Post-Thanksgiving catch up

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? Mine involved a microwave and a very sad lack of pie. Seriously, who goes to the store and says "Instead of PIE, let's bring SUGAR COOKIES for Thanksgiving Dessert"? Apparently, the answer is my in-laws. The same people who at the last minute told us to stay home, packed up the hot food, and drove the 45 minutes here, so we then had to microwave each dish separately, which resulted than no more than one dish being hot at a time.

Luckily, last weekend I had pre-Thanksgiving with my Aunt and about 40 of her closest friends in Hollywood. THAT was good food, and awesome people. I wore a vest. And made friends with a gay guy making Manhattans at the bar who was also wearing a vest. He declared us the vest girls, who must stick together. *giggle*

The day before Thanksgiving I had my belly dance final - my solo performance. Amazingly, I did not freeze or forget any of it. Though I did sweat a lot and avoid eye contact with the audience. But my teacher had 90% great things to say about it, only correcting some technical issues where I had a step not quite right. All in all, I felt really good about it. Unfortunately, out of the three people who said they could video tape it, two did not come and one forgot her camera. Oh well. I am encouraged, I will do this dance in public again!

Also, I have written two more stories this week. The plot bunnies, they are multiplying! I would say I should take a break from Who/Torchwood fandom, since it's becoming all-consuming, but if it's inspiring my muse, who am I to argue? :) I haven't forgotten my other fandoms, to be sure. So, what can I sell to get the money I need for the multitude of cons I want to go to? I wish, instead of b-day and xmas pressies, that I could convince my family to contribute to my convention fund. But they just don't get my fascination there. *shrug*
